Renew Training and Support
Next Renew Training:
On April 25, we will be gathering together for a training entitled “Overview of Youth Mental Health First Aid and the Impact of Trauma for Foster/Adoptive Parents”. This training will be led by Jason Haglund (YSS). In this training, parents can begin to familiarize themselves with the risk factors of common mental health challenges in foster/adoptive youth and understand how they as parents might respond, develop, and seek help as they encounter these issues. The training will provide some foundational information, awareness of area resources, and an invitation to the full Mental Health First Aid training if anyone is interested in that pursuit.
This training will be held in the Equipping Room at Cornerstone and will be worth 1.5 credits. If you plan to join us, please RSVP here by April 19!
Renew is a monthly group dedicated to the training and support of foster/adoptive families. We bring in guest speakers to walk us through issues common to the world of adoption and foster care, and try to set aside some time within those to collaborate with fellow parents. Plus, these classes are usually licensed for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit.
We get together on Thursday evenings from 6:15-7:45p . Childcare IS available these evenings to those who register for care by the Friday preceding the training.
