Adoption

The Fatherless Will Find Their Rest

The Big Picture

All of humanity, because of sin, are orphans. We are estranged from our Father God who desires relationship with us. Through Jesus, God made a way for us to no longer be orphans, but to be adopted into his family with all the rights and privileges that come with being his child (Romans 8:14-16).

In the world today, there are over 18 million orphaned children, with 400,000 in the US alone. Christians have the opportunity to live out the Gospel and meet some serious needs in our world through adoption. Taking in a child and giving him or her all the privileges and rights of one of our own children, becoming a father to the fatherless, is one of the best practical expressions of the Gospel we find on this earth.

The Local Picture

Here at Cornerstone, we try to step into this vision for adoption by helping families get started with (and fund) their adoption process and connecting them with training, resources, and other adoptive parents.
